Gary Ballough is a USCG-licensed captain, legendary offshore powerboat racer and throttleman, and multiple-time world and national offshore champion. He is the reigning 2026 national champion in the highly competitive Super Stock class. In 2025, he was inducted into the American Power Boat Association (APBA) Hall of Champions.
His distinguished career includes extensive competition throughout the United States and on the international race circuit sanctioned by the Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM), the world governing body for powerboat racing. Beyond racing, Gary’s maritime experience includes private charter operations, vessel design consulting, boat setup and testing, and advanced vessel-operations instruction for U.S. Navy SEAL personnel.
In addition to safe-boating instruction for recreational boaters, Gary offers specialized high-performance training for those entering offshore racing, preparing competitors with the skills, technical knowledge, and safety awareness required to succeed in the sport.
